General Job Descriptions

Rosemary Children's Services offers a variety of Social Services and Administrative positions that may be available. The following are positions applicants often inquire about. 


 
Foster Care Social Worker:
The Social Worker is responsible for provision of social services to the foster child, foster parents and natural family which includes development of individual needs and service plans. They will monitor the health, educational, religious, recreational, social, emotional and psychological needs of each child on caseload. Available community resources are to be maintained that apply to above areas. The Social Worker is also responsible for maintaining casework, medical and home files on individual caseload; preparing required reports for these files, in addition to submitting all required reports to state licensing and the placing agency. For each foster home on his/her caseload, they will monitor adherence to licensing regulations. This includes driving to each home and physically surveying and supervising the care and treatment of each child in the home. They will obtain and provide foster parents with required admission information upon initial placement. The Social Worker will monitor current status of educational planning and academic functioning of each foster child on his/her caseload. Representing the foster child in the educational setting whenever necessary.

Qualifications include:

 Possess a Masters' Degree in at least one of the following related fields: Master of Social Work, Master of Social Welfare, Masters in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling, Masters in Child Counseling, Masters in Counseling Psychology, Masters in Social Psychology.
 Experienced in general office practices, procedures, equipment use and be computer proficient.
 Maintain current CPR & First-Aid Certification.
 Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish.

Child Care Counselors: Child Care Counselors work directly with adolescent "at-risk" girls in a residential and group home setting. Duties include providing supervision, transportation to residents during school hours, recreational activities and medical appointments and one-on-one counseling and mentoring.   Child Care Counselors are also assigned to facilitate specific therapeutic and Group Centered Leadership (Peer Accountability) groups.   Counselors are assigned a caseload of 1-2 residents and are required to attend quarterly Treatment Team Meetings for their assigned caseload.   Counselors are responsible for maintaining daily resident observation notes, treatment goal updates and special incident reports when applicable.

Qualifications include:

An Associates Degree in a Social Services field required with 2 years experience working with troubled youth. A Bachelor's Degree in a Social Services Field preferred.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with staff, residents and community, which includes written communication.
